The Griffin design for an (unbuilt) Arsenal Town at Tuggeranong, made during the height of Australia's war effort. It was to be located by the Murrumbidgee River in the Australian Capital Territory, near present day Gordon and Point Hut Crossing .
Although the Griffins were outspoken pacifists during World War 1, the Arsenal plan received the same finesse and attention to detail as some of their best work. It is an inspired design poetically fitted to the amphitheatre topography of the landscape. The plan is of interest also because it shows buildings, such as urban terraces & garden cottages, and a tram-based transport network - a level of detail not seen in their designs for the National Capital proper.
