The logic and clarity of the public transport network on the North Shore was dictated by the topography. The main route to Mosman followed the ridge along Falcon St and Military Rd, with branches linking the railway and ferry at Milsons Point, and ferry wharfs at Neutral Bay, Mosman and the Spit. Willoughby Rd carried the tram to Chatswood and Middle Harbour.
