Creator De Gruchy & Leigh lithographers
Date 1871
Looking over the Yarra at Southbank northward, Elizabeth St and Flinders Street Station centre. This spectacular lithograph became the basis for De Gruchy & Leigh's birdseye a decade later 'Melbourne 1880', prepared for the International Exhibition. Comparing the views, it is fascinating to see the changes in the rapidly developing city.
