Creator Gould's Mammals of Australia (1845-1863)

Ringtail Possum (Pseudocheirus peregrinus), common in eastern Australia, Tasmania and found in parts of southwestern Australia. Gould believed that the Tasmanian ringtail, which he called P. vivverina, to be blacker in colour than the redder NSW ringtail which he called P. cooki.
