Quokka, or short-taled scrub wallaby, Setonix brachyurus, is a vulnerable threatened species, found in some isolated coastal areas and islands of south-western Australia. It is wll known at Rottnest Island, just off Perth, and at a small colony at Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve, where they co-exist with the critically endangered Gilbert's potoroo.(Gould syn: Short-tailed wallaby Quokka, Halmaturus brachyurus).
